d ball s debut ep was an under-the-radar techno classic which appeared in a handful of stores back in 2002, it has since been fetching crazy money second hand & been the subject of much speculation about who s behind it. after some all ears sleuthing we managed to locate the label hq and were delighted to hear they had a new ep ready and pressed ! even better (dare we say) than the first release !

nice price deal !!! coruscating cut-ups yanked still dripping and yowling from the belly of the beast. dazzling and invigorating, scary and discombobulating. ‘psychic driving was a psychiatric procedure in which patients were subjected to a continuously repeated audio message on a looped tape, in order to alter their behaviour… often hundreds of thousands of repetitions of a single statement over the course of their treatment. they were also concurrently administered muscular paralytic drugs such as curare… the psychic driving procedure was a chronological precursor to cameron’s depatterning, involving massive doses of ect combined with similarly large doses of psychedelic drugs like lsd. the intent was to break down the subject’s personality — theoretically psychic driving could then be used with some efficacy in establishing a new personality’ (hanson records).

this is the first vinyl only release of jelly beast recordings. they invited artists with a great underground reputation, massimo cassini, dan noel, sonartek and andreas bergmann.

phil hinter ensemble is a joint project by phil s main pillars philogresz and simon hinter as they present their longawaited debut solo ep with 4 intimate pieces. simon hinter s smart grooves and sample based fill-ins blends with the wombastic bass and shivering synth lines of philogresz. u will love this!

this release is a collection of big names of the electronic music history, some of them are legends: pete tong & john monkman lead the list of big artists in this ep, they had produced the bumps a few months ago and now we can see the remixes of that track.
for the remix duties, suara is proud to have on board one of the biggest names of electronic music movement with more than 20 million albums sold, 8 songs in the uk singles chart, masterpieces like play or 18. the name of the remixer is moby, whom did a delicate and sophisticated deep house track for his debut on suara.
coyu is in the package too with a dancefloor, melodic, powerful interpretation of the original and julien jeweil did a really cool revision of the track in a techno way.

london based bad passion project, aka chris stoker (ess o ess) and andy bainbridge (machete savane), finally unveil their new record label, not an animal records? for their first release, they present an ep from friend and frequent collaborator man power (correspondant, hivern discs), featuring 2 original productions, as well as stellar remixes from the backwoods aka dj kent (force of nature) & ess o ess.?

tapan are from belgrade, hosts to disco not disco and now delivering two slow psychedelic techno bomb s to crimes of the future s letterbox. we first met nebjosa and the crew when we played at drug store in belgrade for them in early 2014. upon receiving these we knew they had crimes written all over them. on volumes we have two very special remixes of an already heavy original starting with willie burns taking them into the streets of manchester in the early 90 s and spending a night on at the hacienda with no thought of the gentrification approaching. drvcvltvre is the second provider and in true style switches out the lights and a spectre looms over the dancefloor dripping acid on the dancers below. the ep closes with whos there? featuring the brain melting guitars of vladimir djordjevic. quite a debut we think.

pablo marco comes back to the label pushing out >crossing the river ep< as the seventh reference of lths catalogue. the artwork was painted by the young maestro from colombia, santiago ayerbe. all 4 tracks have been played over and over and they work for the dancefloor everytime. better to discover it by yourself.

when people think of tuff gong they usually think of bob marley and rightly so, as he was nicknamed and often called tuff gong and from this his early releases which came out on the tough gong label. but tuff gong was also the name of a recording complex named after bob marley hat included a top level recording studio, pressing plant and distribution centre that would allow reggae music to carry on many years after his sad and too early demise. we focus for this release on the work carried out by the great scientist on the songs of the black solidarity label run by ossie thomas (aka joe the boss) recorded at tough gong studios. one of the foremost recording, pressing and distribution facilities on the jamaican island set up from the work of bob marley to carry forward reggae music. hope you enjoy this set.

ontals work excites many conflicting emotions. exuberant, convoluted and theatrical plots define the watchwords attached to the serbian duo. they represent one of the most paradigmatic examples of how industrial/techno can still offer a wide range of pleasant surprises. a visceral understanding of the scenic rhythm space vs. void establishes a metamorphic composition in short of an almost baroque sensitivity. always moving around an unstable fringe of intuition-rules-over-eclecticism, together with an attitude of total irreverence against the old aphorism, but keeping at the same time an incredible discipline of sophistication, produce a situation where anything touched by them have to be immediately placed at the top of the evolution line of the electronic music. “pietà” simply shows this feeling at their best.

dyad is a collaborative music project and label by ben gibson and fundamental interaction. for their third release they deliver two pieces of mesmerizing warehouse techno in *zou* and *fully automated*. to round things off they have assigned irish techno master lee holman, who weighs-in with a devastating remix of *fully automated*.

kike pravda is an artist and producer who has come to release on labels such as warm up recordings, m_rec, psychoskunk, labrynth and many more which have given very good results by the best djs. all this leads him to create his own label in 2012 to continue contributing to the techno scene, his own sound, senoid recordings. senoid enters into the most modern techno without forgetting where the techno came from, betting on vinyl and digital format with the best producers of nowadays.

despite the fact moon harbour is celebrating 15 years in action this summer, they still have plenty of time for new music. next up is label regular sable sheep with three brand new cuts that all continue in his fine tradition of serving up surefire dancefloor bombs.

niereich & xhei locked themselves in and produced two nice fat techno tunes while niereich was touring in south america. the result has now materialized on afultd. 54 and they also had the luck to add two great remixes by miss sunshine and joton ! enjoy and this will be released on 2-coloured vinyl

theyre young and tough, and especially wonderful too, easily one of the most compelling harmony soul groups to ever hail from the windy city! the sets a chicago soul gem from the early 70s, recorded with a laidback, slightly tripped-out vibe thats different than the tighter styles of other groups from the same scene, definitely righteous at points, with some of the superbad modes you might hear from an east coast lineup like the delfonics or soul generation, especially when they were trying to get a bit more conscious in their message. arrangements are great – handled by tom tom washington, eugene record, and cliff davis, very much at the best brunswick mode, but again with a deeper sort of vibe too. the title cuts a monster, and a very fitting follow-up to their earlier sly, slick, & wicked track – and the album features 2 versions (vocal and instrumental) of a cut called this is the lost generation, a very righteous soul groove with a heavy production tip.

fragil musique showcase for their sixteenth release, nummer, a london-based duo that have been close to the label since they started. emmanuel corre and silvère letellier produce a broad and varied mixture of electronic music, merging club music with electronica and ambient. the pair s high versatility has been widely revealed through their releases on going good, peur bleue as well as on their own nummer music imprint.

three tracks here evoking familiar feelings heard before but still somehow they all sound fresh and drag you in wanting for more. as if this wouldn t do it, there is first but, not last appearance for barba label by mighty jtc who needs no further introduction delivering a remix. this time he cleverly uses sparse but recognizable parts of title track which he then transforms into relentless floor shaker where detroit meets chicago, if any such comparison needs to be made. aquatic stuff !

his desert brothers ep, consists of 3 tracks, hide, withdrawal and, of course, desert brothers. it’s not easy to classify the ep in a specific music genre. all 3 tracks have a very distinctive drums programming and groovy bass. they could be easily played in a big club during the peak time of a set or at a dark basement during the after hours. they have this strange deepness that calms you down but at the same time the first kick after the break easily gets your fist up.

the dance is the result of a long lasting musical love affair between kontra-musik s ulf eriksson and sebastian mullaert (aka minilogue). as most love affairs, it started off as an exciting experiment: ulf would play records and sebastian would bring out his music gear and play a live set. as they were touring with this live concept, their sounds started to really integrate, and after one especially fine night at trouw, amsterdam, ulf and sebastian decided it was time to conceive the dance. once the decision was taken, everything else came naturally. the dance was to be recorded live, in one take, at kontra-musik s home field inkonst, malmo, sweden.

erased tapes artists and friends Ólafur arnalds and nils frahm have separately carved out a musical career that defies genres both with their unique live shows and a loyal fan base that’s always eager to hear what their prolific output will bring. their latest collaborative 2-track release ‘life story love and glory’ is a live improv affair on two pianos, recorded in 2012 at nils’s durton studio in berlin. fans may wonder why they have waited until 2015 to release these tracks, but having revealed a new website www.arnaldsfrahm.com you may think this may not be the end to their musical story this year. the limited 7 inch vinyl includes a download code.

throwing rave parties since 2011, the bp collective has been founded with the objective of bringing a new breath to the french underground techno scene. in the bp tag und nacht” parties the visual universe tends to merge with the sound. each of the two stages has something different to tell: tag for the open air, nacht for the dark and smoky room. this project is based on the belief that the story told by sound depends on the visual atmosphere in which it is played. indeed this very first ep is built between those two atmospheres, the 4 tracks of the ep could be played in any of the two scenes tag or nacht with a totally different impact on the audience. on the tag stage, both of the tracks are colorful, atmospheric and dynamic whereas on the nacht stage, they become dark, trippy and powerful. this record is the first release of the two artists x1000 on the a side and vidock on the b side. both of them are part of the bp collective since the beginning, they draw their influences from the 90s detroit and belgium techno and trance scene. its difficult not to think about artists like the martian, model 500, robert leiner or the whole r&s label while listening to these 4 tracks.

finale sessions is really pleased to launch new series finale sessions limited with berlin up and coming act arcarsenal. duo comprised of alan mathias and etienne dauta, both founders of bass cadet records and its dedicated vinyl store located in the heart of the german capital, they are also active members of the large underground quality family. arcarsenal have already started to establish themselves as proponent of a crossover sound, mixing many influences from jazz, house, ambient to dub and techno.

andre kronerts seminal exu ep gets a comprehensive rework from some of the most outstanding on the scene. tense and sinister new cuts from kronert introduce both sides of the release, whilst the label calls upon remixes from berlin mainstays efdemin and ed davenport, as well as hollands finest export juan sanchez, plus stockholm ltd label boss par grindvik alongside fellow swede peder mannerfelt.

retaining the slurred vocal of the original, efdemin layers thundering effects over chasmic bass in his mix of into the zone, which saw heavy rotation last year. meanwhile davenport brings a wild yet streamlined intensity to c.o.d.e.2.
side b sees grindvik team up with mannerfelt to provide a joint interpretation of into the zone, which they manipulate into a peak-time epic, with a soaring melody over hammering toms. finally, juan sanchez channels funk through roll the dice with a twitchy, groove-laden rework.

hedonism is an ethical theory that pleasure, in a sense of satisfaction of desires, is the highest good and proper aim of human life, and this seems to also be hdnsm’s ultimate musical objective. their first release debuted as a kickstarter of “variant ep” v.a. series, showcasing three very different yet highly contemplative creations from cumsecade, anestie gomez and man spider. hdnsm flips the coin and for the second episode of “variant” series it lands on two very solid, incredibly moody and extensive works from fresh talents shcaa and cleymoore. the ep features two very different tracks yet they share the same minimalistic core. both works are blessed with intricate micro-drum arrangements for those feeling groove hungry whilst still standing tall in the experimental abstract realm pleasing those who crave unusual frequencies. a-side’s “masquée” is one of shcaa’s typical rides between sound and silence and it is hard to find another artist who understands sound gaps between grooves better than shcaa does. with his signature vocals and an incredibly delicious duality between acoustic instrumentalism and electronic slamming, this is a groovy, highly deep, very intelligently arranged piece. the flip-side “nebula”, signed by pluie/noir’s boss cleymoore, is a tip of an iceberg when it comes to the art of stripping down. in an apparently thin canvas of minimal drum arrangements there’s a vast amount of sound frequencies underneath a steady ever-kicking groove, tricking your mind into thinking that you’re hearing less than you actually perceive. nebula is hypnotic and dense but focused and sophisticatedly groovy. like the repetitive vocals you’ll hear throughout the b-side, this v.a. sticks to your mind like an addiction of some sort and pushes hdnsm to a new standard of avant-garde and forward-thinking attitude. as before, this vinyl only release comes in a gorgeous cover featuring a painting from max binski and the number of copies available is limited

deep dark industrial ambient. a slowly evolving soundscape with boiling buzzing sounds, resonating through the dark world.the berserk was perhaps one of the world s best fighters, which in old norse time sworn allegiance to the norse god odin. before a battle berserkers excited each other up and occurred in bearskin or wolf skin, hence the word berserk. in the beginning of the battle they performed exceptionally talented, indifferent battlers, but in close combat they fell into berserk. then they howled like wild beasts, probably to frighten the enemy and incite their comrades and themselves, and then get into rages. a berserk in battle were said not to bother about any injuries, and was therefore until the enemy, or they died.
